#Music #Kpop

I'm going to be traveling at the start of this summer, but I'm trying to pre-write some posts this week so I can stay on schedule. For those of you with exams coming up, you got this! (૭ 。•̀ ᵕ •́。 )૭
This post was a long time coming, since intense songs tend to be my favorite. I added these songs to our Spotify playlists, Clean Kpop Songs 🫶 and Clean Kpop Songs to Lock In 🔒🔥👈👈, which I’ve also linked at the bottom of the post.
#1 BTS - "Baepsae (Silver Spoon)"
Since BTS recently had their comeback, I put their logo on the cover for this post, and I’m recommending two songs from them!
This is one of the first songs I heard from BTS, and it’s one of the reasons I became a fan of them. I like how this song is about how frustrating it feels to deal with expectations from older generations, which is a pretty unique subject matter for a song. Not to mention, it's pretty relatable. If you need to exercise angrily, then this song will be perfect for you!
#2 ATEEZ - "Work"
I can’t believe I haven’t recommended an Ateez song on this blog, yet! I love this song because it’s not just great for working out, but also getting into the grind of working a job. Sometimes I have to sing this song to myself when I want to quit my job and collapse onto my bed, TBH. (ᵕ • ᴗ •)
As much as I love this song, I have to say that it does not at all convey Ateez’s range, so give some of their albums a listen, if you’re curious! They have a lot of underrated gems which I’ll have to recommend in my future posts.
The music video I linked is fun, but there are some scenes where San is shirtless. Don’t show this to the kids you’re babysitting, is all I’m saying. But feel free to play this song for them! (˶˃𐃷˂˶)
#3 ALLDAY PROJECT - "Famous"
AllDay Project is a pretty new group (they just debuted in 2025!), so I feel like I’m getting back into my role as a (self-proclaimed) Kpop expert with this song. What I find interesting about AllDay Project is that they are a co-ed group, so they have both boys and girls, which is not common in Kpop. I feel like co-ed groups have to be extremely skilled to be popular in the Kpop scene, which is what intrigued me about AllDay Project, when I first heard about them and they seemed solidly well-known.
My initial feel for the group was not disappointed. This song is so groovy, and the rapping is crazy good! The only thing I’ll say for cleanness is that the lyrics mention a “bum” once.
As for the music video, there are once again some shirtless guys, and girls in sports bras, and some into the mouth shots that feel kind of suggestive to me. Basically, what you would expect from an edgy music video—not super clean but not insanely inappropriate.
#4 Stray Kids - "Ceremony"
Of course, for a post of this nature, I could not neglect to recommend a Stray Kids song. Also of course, the rap and vibes of this song are immaculate. This song feels like a song to party to, so play it when you’re ready to do a victory lap at the end of your workout. I have to warn for the music video, once again there is a shirtless man.
#5 NCT 127 - "Fact Check"
Everybody take a guess at what I’m going to say! Three, two, one… There are shirtless guys in this music video! Yup, I know we’re all shocked and scandalized.
Anyways, this song is awesome. It’s really great for making you feel unstoppable. Like, I’ll be stumbling around on the treadmill, and this song will come on, and suddenly I’m running like I’m the main character of an action movie (played by Chris Evans).
#6 ITZY - "That's a No No"
I normally don’t like comparing groups to each other, but the beginning of this song gives me huge i-dle vibes, and I want to know if anyone else sees it. There’s definitely a uniquely Itzy flavor to this song, though, and I love that they can still emulate the icons that they are even on a song that isn’t as well-known.
I can say from experience that this is a great song to sing to yourself during the hardest part of your workout. Give up? That's a no no.
#7 Seventeen - "Thunder"
So, I actually am in love with this music video. I feel like this type of song isn’t what people usually associate with Seventeen, but they killed it. They knew what vibe they wanted for the MV, and they absolutely committed to it. This is definitely going to go into my top favorite Kpop MVs ranking. Ooh, now that is a post idea right there. I will say the MV has a little bit of a scary vibe, and there are some suggestive outfits in it.
As for the song itself, it has a such a sassy and confident aura that I absorb when I'm working out. Try it. It's like an HP potion.
#8 BTS - "Jump"
This song feels very old school hip hop to me. I’ve always liked these songs, which is why Skool Luv Affair has always been one of my favorite BTS albums, but recently I’ve been into hiphop even more. Anyways, what I’m trying to say is that if you like hiphop, then this is the song for you! Sometimes I forget how strong BTS’s rap line is. I think some of their magic comes from how good both the rappers and vocalists are, and how they combine both sides of that into every song.
Congratulations, you are now ready to get a personal best! As I mentioned earlier, I compiled these songs into two of our Spotify playlists, Clean Kpop Songs 🫶 and Clean Kpop Songs to Lock In 🔒🔥👈👈. Feel free to submit your own song recommendations in the form below, too!
Sometimes I think about how much slang I use in these posts, and how ridiculous I’ll sound to anyone reading this three years from now. (—ᴗ—ᵕ) But as much as reading my 2021 posts makes me cringe, they also make me giggle, so you guys will continue to be treated to my chronically online lexicon. I know that’s what you come back for.
